چکیده

1 Abstract The research outlined in this paper marks an initial global cooperative effort between visualization and collaboration researchers to build a persistent virtual visualization facility linked by ultra-high-speed optical networks. The goal is to enable the comprehensive and synergistic research and development of the necessary hardware, software and interaction techniques to realize the next generation of end-user tools for scientists to collaborate on the global Lambda Grid. This paper outlines some of the visualization research projects that were demonstrated at the iGrid 2005 workshop in San Diego, California.

Rule-Based Visualization in a Computational Steering Collaboratory

In this paper, we introduce the concept of rule-based visualization for a computational steering collaboratory and show how these rules can be used to steer the behaviors of visualization subsystems. Feature-based visualization allows users to extract regions of interests, and then visualize, track and quantify the evolution of these features. Rules define high level user policies and are used ...

Rule-based visualization in the Discover computational steering collaboratory

In this paper, we introduce the concept of rule-based visualization for a computational steering collaboratory and show how these rules can be used to steer the behaviors of the visualization subsystem. Rules define high level policies and are used to autonomically select and tune the visualization routines based on application requirements and available computing/network resources. Such an aut...

Flow Visualization Around a Non - Circular Tube

The flow behavior around a cam shaped tube in cross flow has been investigated experimentally using flow visualization and pressure distribution measurement. The range of attack angle and Reynolds number based on an equivalent circular diameter are within 0 ≤ α ≤ 360˚ and 2 x 104 < Reeq < 3.4 x 104, respectively. The pressure drag features are clarified in relation to the flow behavior around t...

An Application-level Quality of Service Architecture for Internet Collaboratories

The availability of ubiquitous network connections in conjunction with signi cant advances in hardware and software technologies have led to the emergence of distributed collaboratories over wide-area networks. In these collaboratories, people from a global pool of participants can come together to perform scienti c work or take part in meetings without regard to geographic location. A distribu...

A new approach for data visualization problem

Data visualization is the process of transforming data, information, and knowledge into visual form, making use of humans’ natural visual capabilities which reveals relationships in data sets that are not evident from the raw data, by using mathematical techniques to reduce the number of dimensions in the data set while preserving the relevant inherent properties. In this paper, we formulated d...
